FAQs
Do I need an appointment?
For routine check-ups, vaccinations, and ongoing care, appointments help us give your pet dedicated time and attention. But we know pets don't always get sick on schedule — that's why we also welcome walk-ins and function as a pet urgent care clinic to provide pet owners with convenient access to vet care during open hours. We do recommend, if possible, if your pet's condition is serious or worsening, please call ahead so we can prepare for your arrival.
What’s the difference between general practice and urgent care?
General practice covers all routine and preventative care — such as routine check-ups, vaccinations, desexing, dental care, etc. Urgent care is for unexpected problems that need same-day attention — such as vomiting, diarrhoea, not eating, weakness, lethargy, limping, ear infections, or acute injuries and wounds. We can stabilise pets in distress, then arrange safe transfer to the nearest 24-hour facility if overnight care is needed. We aim to bridge the gap between your regular vet and the emergency hospital.
What if my pet gets anxious at the vet?
If we are not fans of human hospitals, I am sure our pets feel the same way about a veterinary clinic! Therefore, our goal and mission is to provide a calm, gentle approach when it comes to handling, communicating and treating pets. We feel they deserve the care they need and should be treated as if they were our own. We want your pet's visit to be positive and fun. You're welcome to bring comfort items or ask about pre-visit anxiety support.
How often should my pet have a check-up?
Adult pets: at least once a year
Puppies/kittens: every 4 weeks until fully vaccinated
Senior pets: every 6 months
If your pet has underlying health conditions such as Cushing's, diabetes, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, immune-mediated disorders and lumps for example, regular visits are encouraged and a care plan will be provided with follow ups. Prevention is better than cure, regular visits can help catch problems early — saving you stress and cost in the long run.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Bring your pet’s previous medical records and any medications or supplements they’re taking. If your pet is anxious, a favourite blanket or treat helps them feel more comfortable.
Do you offer payment options?
Yes. We believe quality vet care should be accessible and transparent.
We have payment plan options through Zip Pay, Afterpay, Humm. We understand veterinary care can be expensive but also do not want to cut any corners, our values are to always be transparent with prices and will work together with you so that we can achieve the best outcome for you and your pet.
Can I get a prescription for my pet’s medication?
Yes. Please allow at least 48-76 hours for repeats to be processed. We always recommend setting a reminder for your pet's medication refill a week before it runs out. Most vet prescriptions do not require a consultation however it is recommended to have a follow up visit if we haven't seen your pet in 6 months.
My dog gets highly anxious in waiting rooms. How do you handle this?
Vet visits trigger stress for many animals, and behavioural concerns are very common. We run a calm clinic environment and can schedule your appointment during our quietest hours. Please let our reception team know if your dog is reactive or nervous when you book. We can arrange for you to bypass the main waiting room entirely or discuss using mild pre-visit calming medications to make the process easier.
